Investing in Relationships: Our Partnership With Artist Dominica Fisher

Most of our best projects do not start with a request, they start with a relationship. It’s a kind of trust that can’t be earned on a single order. It is built over time. That has certainly been true with Chicago-based photographer Dominica Fisher, whose growing fine art business needed a printing and framing partner who could keep pace with her vision.

Today, Gemini prints and frames Dominica’s fine art photography, a partnership that has grown well beyond where it started and is built on consistency, trust, and a shared appreciation for getting the details right.

WHERE THE VISION BEGINS

Dominica’s photography lives in the space between the seen and the unseen. She describes herself as a creative explorer – drawn to energy, the unseen, and the moments most of us move past without noticing. She uses long exposures and a meditative approach to slow down what the camera captures. The result is a body of work that feels less staged and more discovered, images that are soft, layered, and full of movement, asking the viewer to slow down and look twice.

We first crossed paths with Dominica’s work on a commercial installation for Core Spaces in Chicago, artwork that needed to hold its own in a busy commercial space without losing the intimacy of the original photograph. Around that same time, Dominica was growing her own fine art business and looking for a printing and framing partner who could keep pace, large-scale prints, archival materials, and color accuracy worthy of a gallery wall. That search for fine art printing and framing is what led her to Gemini directly, and the partnership has continued from there.

Printing and Framing That Honors the Art

Every piece we produce for Dominica starts with our art quality printers, which offer the highest color gamut and resolution available in the wide format space. That level of detail matters most with fine art, where subtle shifts in tone and depth carry the entire image.

Once printed on archival paper, each piece is UV coated to protect the artwork and preserve its color over time. From there, the print is floated inside a custom-built frame, a choice that lets the paper itself become part of the visual experience rather than disappearing behind a mat or glass.

Showing Up Where It Matters

This year, our collaboration with Dominica took us to New Orleans for the opening of her exhibition, ‘Aura’, at Jillian Mac Fine Art. CEO Courtney Wright made the trip in person to celebrate Dominica’s work and see her pieces hanging in a gallery setting for the first time.

We don’t measure success by projects completed, we measure it by relationships that last well beyond a single order. The kind where someone calls us first for whatever comes next. Dominica is one of many artists we have been fortunate to grow alongside, and it’s the same kind of partnership we hope to build with every artist and gallery we work with.
